Impossible is a word seldom heard at High Tech High International. The stereotypical teenage cacophonies of “can’t,”  “won’t,” and “never” are replaced with a chorus of “can,” “will,” and “now.”

The motivational teachings of every instructor dare even the most timid students to strive for their best. Our school forces us to step out of our comfort zones, to think freely and openly, and to learn without feeling burdened. Our atmosphere is one of true community.  Being a school whose student body is drawn from the racial, religious, and socio-economic cornucopia that is San Diego, acceptance is not what we strive for, but rather what we employ inherently. Such diversity brings together a population of varying ideas that meld during each group project and discussion. This inclusiveness makes our school stronger and our projects more impressive.

Project-based learning, combined with the 21st century principle of technology as a vital tool, molds HTHI freshmen into graduates ready for the world beyond high school. Our graduate statistics are further proof of our success: 99% of our graduates go onto higher education and 93% of alumni are still enrolled after three years. The spirit of innovative learning is rooted within each classroom, upheld by teachers who truly care, and perpetuated inside the minds of our eager-to-learn scholars. Reinforced by our three design principles of personalization, adult world connection and common intellectual mission, we are unique in everything we do. We know at HTHI, nothing feels impossible.
